Make your own easy DIY Toner

Updated: Feb 8, 2022

It happened in April 2020, during the 'circuit breaker' in Singapore. There was a nationwide partial lockdown and all non essential workspaces were closed from 7th April to 2020 to 4th May 2020 (inclusive).

I was at home, thinking of a simple DIY post to make, so that clients and followers could gain from it. I was googling for pictures of green tea and water and spent a lot of time trying to find them as most were copyrighted. I was mourning and groaning about it to my friend when she suggested I use my camera and take a picture of the green tea packets and water that I have at home. Something so simple and straight forward, yet it never occurred to me to do that. Then she went on to say,

Why are you only going to post it on Insta? Why don't you show people how to do it? That would be easier for them to see and understand, isn't it?

And that was it, I was both nervous and excited at the same time and went about making the video for the tutorial you will now see. Not to get lost in the details of how we started out YouTube tutorials, let's move on to making this simple home made toner.

To make this toner, all you need are:

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 green tea bags

  • 1 cup of hot water (rest the water for 5 mins after boiling)

  • 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel

Put in two bags of the green tea, pour in the hot water after 5 minutes, Let the water steep for 5 minutes to extract the flavour of the tea bags. Then add 1 tablespoon of the aloe vera gel and stir it in the warm water. Make sure it dissolves well in the water and once it is done allow it to cool a little more and voila, you have your DIY toner. You can then pour the contents in a bottle and leave in the refrigerator to use and when required.

I've used it and it has proved to be effective and I hope it would help you too. Here are some benefit's of using a toner.
